Crash leaves one in critical condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man is in critical condition after a two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday evening.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers were called to the railroad tracks on Anthony Blvd just north of Wayne Trace at about 5:15pm. They found one vehicle on its side right off the railroad tracks, and the vehicle that had collided with it nearby.

A man who was trapped inside the incapacitated vehicle had to be removed and transported to the hospital in serious condition. He was downgraded to critical condition a short time after arrival.

Police say the other driver had been driving north on Anthony and crossed the center line as he approached the railroad tracks, hitting the victim’s vehicle and causing it to roll onto its side.

Officers don’t believe alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash, which is under investigation. There is no word yet on if any charges have been or will be filed.
