CELINA, Ohio (WOWO): If someone hands you a $100 bill, you might want to think twice before accepting it.

Over the past several days, counterfeit $100 bills have been going around Celina, Ohio, and surrounding areas, the Celina Police Department said on Facebook.

These fake bills are designed similar to $100 bills printed between 1929 and 1991, with small numerals in the corners and a small portrait of Benjamin Franklin. The fakes have purple ink on the top edge and have the same serial number C55206480A, as seen in the photo above.

Police are asking residents to be cautious and to check bills before accepting them.
