Coroner IDs woman killed in July 2 crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman who was killed in a crash that happened in downtown Fort Wayne last Sunday night has been identified.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office says 42-year-old Michelle Wagner of Roanoke was killed when the car she was in collided with a truck at the intersection of South Clinton Street and East Washington Boulevard at about 11:05pm.

The drivers of both the car and truck were also injured. Police believe the driver of the car ran a red light, leading to the crash.

Wagner is the 20th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2017. Her death was due to blunt force trauma and has been ruled an accident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
