Church sign upsets LGBTQ allies

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): Controversy is brewing over a church sign in Auburn.

The Remnant Fellowship Church has a sign outside that says “LGBTQ is a hate crime against God. Repent.” Below, a smaller sign says “all are welcome.”

This woman tells our Partners in News at ABC 21 she’s not a fan of the message:

“I kind of sat there for a little bit, what am I supposed to do about this,” said Kristin Russell. “I saw the message ‘stay open-minded’ in the letters, so I thought, why don’t I just change it to that?”

So she did, but they changed it back quickly.

A church pastor says they’re not intolerant of others’ beliefs, but they are finding those on the other side of the issue to be intolerant of their beliefs.

While I don’t agree with the churches message they have a right to post it. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution says so.
