BDHS Cheer Wins 9th National Title

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): On Sunday March 2, 2014, the Bishop Dwenger Varsity Cheer Team competed at the Contest of Champions Nationals in Orlando, Florida.  

The 22 member team won the extra-large varsity division consisting of teams of 20 members or more and the team also received the highest score of any team at the competition that day and were crowned National Grand Champions for the ninth time.  Over 96 teams competed that day and the girls gave a stellar performance.  

Members include: Seniors- Emily Budzon, Elizabeth Budzon, Lauren Didier, Haley Enrietto, Mariah Tippmann, Allison White.  Juniors- Clare Anderson, Alexis Eddy, Dominique Effinger, Maggie Houlihan, Graisen Proctor,  Lucy Schenkel and Emily Tippmann. Sophomores-Jenna Eckland, Grace Gillig and Maddy Tippmann and Freshmen-Katie Eddy, Jaclyn Grutsch, Raina Gulachek, Carson Jasper, Sylvia Schenkel and Amy Weilbaker.  This is the 9th National title won By Bishop Dwenger and the 4th consecutive won by the girls.  The team is coached by Amy Gonzagowski, Vicki Kuker and Doris Derheimer.
