Apparent stabbing in home on Oliver Street, one woman in critical condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – One woman is in critical condition after she was found suffering from stab wounds in a home on Oliver Street, according to our partners in news at ABC 21.

Fort Wayne police were called to the home in the 4800 block of Oliver Street around 2:50 a.m. Once at the scene, they found the front door already open.

Upon entering, they found a woman suffering from a significant amount of trauma. In addition to the stab wounds, it appears she may have been possibly shot as well. She was originally found in serious condition, but was later downgraded to critical condition after arriving at a local hospital.

Police also found a young child in the home, but they were not harmed.

An early investigation revealed the woman was able to call a family member after being stabbed, who then called the police.

There is no suspect information at this time, but detectives are asking anyone that might have information to call Crime Stoppers at 436-7867 or the Detective Bureau at 427-1201.

The incident is still under investigation.
