Angola, Fremont up for America’s Best Communities award Wednesday

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): Officials from Angola and Fremont are preparing to make their best pitch in Durham, North Carolina.

Officials from Angola and Fremont partnered together to enter America’s Best Communities Competition.

The northeast Indiana community and 14 other rural communities around the nation will make their “Shark Tank-style” proposals to a panel of judges.

Then eight communities will be named finalist and will be awarded $100,000. The finalists will then have a year to execute their proposals with the money.

The communities that makes the largest impact will be named grand prize winners. The top community will win $3 million, second place will earn $2 million and third place will get $1 million.

The finalist will be announced Wednesday afternoon.
