AMBER Alert issued for three missing Sturgis children

**UPDATE, 9:07AM** The Alert has been canceled. Fernando Cruz is in custody and the children are safe.

STURGIS, Mich. (WOWO): An AMBER Alert has been issued for three children in Sturgis who police believe were taken from their home by their father.

Fernando Cruz is considered armed and dangerous. Police say he made comments that he was going to harm both he and his children. Cruz is accused of taking the children from their home on Pioneer Street in Sturgis at around 10pm last night.

Police believe they are now in Indiana, and were last spotted near Fremont.

The children are identified as 2-year-old Aldo Cruz, who was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and a diaper; 4-year-old Matteo Nieves, who was wearing red shorts and a blue t-shirt… and 5-year-old Chelsey Lopez, who was wearing a pink t-shirt and blue pajama pants.

Cruz was last seen driving a black 2009 Chevy Traverse with a Michigan license plate of DWH9204.
