Allen County Fair adds outhouse races to events

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Racing outhouses is one new event fair-goers can look for at this year’s Allen County Fair.

The Allen County Fair is July 26 to 31.

Outhouse Racing, a growing trend in the Midwest, is a new addition this year’s fair. It includes teams of four racing homemade outhouse through an obstacle course. Truck enthusiasts can get excited about Tug-a-Truck and Monster Truck rides.

There will also be traditional fair events like carnival games, fireworks, hot air balloon shows, youth talent contests and 4-H animal competitions.

The traditional Miss Allen County Queen Pageant is set for 6 p.m. July 17 at Carroll High School. Participants must be between 17 and 21. They must also live, attend school or participate in an Allen County organization.

Participants younger than 17 can enter the Little Miss Program, which is for girls ages 2 to 16.
