McMillen Health celebrates 35th anniversary

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): McMillen Center for Health Education is celebrating its 35th Anniversary at an open house and a name change.

On Tuesday, Mayor Tom Henry presented the organization with a proclamation to honor 35 years in the community.

The event was held at McMillen Center for Health Education on Jim Kelley Boulevard.

The center, which strives to create a healthier community, is going to expand and create a new identity.

A part of the expansion will give the center an updated name from McMillen Center for Health Education to just McMillen Health. It will also receive a new logo and redesigned website.

McMillen Health’s building will be updated as well with new heating, air conditioning and signage.

While McMillen Health may have a new look and name its mission will stay the same.

Other speakers include Pat Parker, one of the original founders, and CEO Holli Seabury who accepted a donation from this years WOWO Brigadoon Fitness Penny Pitch.
