FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman is dead after going the wrong way on I-469 near Fort Wayne’s GM Plant Monday night.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department tells our Partners in News at 21Alive the woman was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of I-469 at around 7:30pm when her car slammed into a guardrail.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released, and police haven’t said if they know why she was driving the wrong way.
