FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It’s Election Day. People across the nation are going to the polls, and some may be waiting longer than others.

Election volunteer Mark Chappuis is set up at Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, and tells WOWO News things are going smoothly.

“It’s been great,” he said. “The longest wait we had was a little over an hour first thing this morning. It’s been going very smooth. I’ve been doing this for a while, and my hat’s off to the Election Board.”

For others, the wait has been two hours or even longer, depending on where you go. Amber Minnick took a break from waiting in line.

“I’m supposed to vote over at St. Peters, but there’s a two-and-a-half hour wait, so I haven’t voted yet. I will, though, because it’s for President and I feel like it’s my duty.”

Many are saying we could see record turnouts today. Stick with WOWO News for continuing coverage of Election Day, and take our poll to let us know how long you’re having to wait.
