Parkview North earns top rating

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A local hospital earned top ratings in the overall hospital quality star ratings.

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services released its hospital ratings on Wednesday. The report covered more than 4,000 hospitals and were based on 64 quality measures, according to the Journal Gazette.

“The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating is designed to help individuals, their family members and caregivers compare hospitals in an easily understandable way,” federal officials told the Journal Gazette.

Orthopedic Hospital at Parkview North received a perfect score of five of five possible stars. Parkview Regional Medical Center received four of five and Lutheran Hospital received two out of five.

The Orthopedic Hospital of Lutheran Health Network also earned five stars.

I’m glad PRMC received such a good score. My experience there was not so good (at the Heart Center). 99% of the staff was excellent. Too bad it was the cardiologists I dealt with that were the 1%. I’ll never go back there because of that.
