FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It was a deadly weekend in Fort Wayne, with a pair of shootings happening 20 minutes apart Sunday night.

Fort Wayne police were first called to a steakhouse on W. Washington Center Road near I-69 at 9:38 p.m. to find a man’s body in the parking lot. A second man was in critical condition and suffering from gunshot wounds.

Apparently an argument started between two groups of men inside the restaurant, which led to a fight in the parking lot. One man was shot during the fight, and while his friends were trying to get him to the hospital, they also opened fire on the other group.

Fort Wayne Police Department officers arrested 29-year-old Andrew Mac Cassaday in connection to that shooting. He was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of firearm with a license aggravated battery.

Twenty minutes later officers were called to an apartment on River Run Trail about a half mile south of St. Joe Center Road. Police found a man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound after an apparent fight.

He died early Monday morning. There’s no word on what started the fight, or how many people were involved.

Fort Wayne Police officers have arrested two juveniles in connection to that murder. They’ve been charged with felony murder. Police believe robbery was the motive.
