FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a head-on crash on I-469 Sunday morning that left one dead and two in serious condition.

The crash happened on northbound I-469 near Maysville Road at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. A car was heading southbound on the northbound lanes of I-469 when it rammed into a pickup truck going the other way head-on, according to 21Alive.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers have not released his name publicly as of yet. His passenger and the driver of the pick-up were each taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says they don’t know why the driver of the car was going the wrong way. They’re still investigating.
