MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): An Ohio boy was killed over the weekend and a man has been arrested in connection to the homicide.

Cory W. Eischen, 39, was arrested in connection to the death of 4-year-old Jaxxen Baker, according to Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 8 p.m. Sunday, police were told a child was unresponsive inside a home in the 5000 block of Rauh Road in Fort Recovery, Ohio. Shortly after the first call, the suspect’s father called police and said he was performing CPR on a 4-year-old boy.

When crews arrived, Eischen told police the boy fell off a bike and slipped in the shower. Police say the child had extensive injuries that weren’t consistent with the statement.

The boy was hospitalized, but was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m. Investigators believe the boy was dead before he made it to the hospital. Police say he died from blunt force trauma.

At the scene, Eischen held a knife to his throat and threatened to commit suicide. Police tazed him and took him into custody.

He is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond. He’s being held on a probation violation from a 2014 felony domestic violence charge.
