FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Governor Mike Pence met with Donald Trump on Wednesday morning then stopped in Fort Wayne for a lemon shake up.

Trump is in the final stages of picking a running mate and Pence is on the short list. Pence joined Trump at a rally and fundraiser on Tuesday near Indianapolis.

Trump and some of his family met with Pence at the governor’s mansion on Wednesday morning. Pence said the meeting was just one family meeting another family.

“It was very warm — just one family meeting with another,” Pence said. “Nothing was offered, nothing was accepted but we had a great conversation about the country, challenges facing America and my firm belief that Donald Trump is going to provide the kind of leadership that America needs to strengthen our nation at home and abroad.”

Pence came to Fort Wayne for the Three Rivers Festival. He went to the Family Fun Fest where he met families and took lots of pictures. He continued campaigning in Junk Food Alley where he had a lemon shake-up from a stand owned by another person named Mike Pence.

Pence had nothing but good things to say about Trump Wednesday afternoon.

“These are good people, this is a good family,” Pence said about Trump. “He’s a dedicated family man, a great dad, he’s a builder, he’s a fighter and he’s a patriot. I think he’s going to make a great president of the United State’s of America.”

Trump is expected to make his vice president choice on Friday.
