Man found dead after shooting on Fort Wayne’s south side

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police responded to the 4400 block of Spatz Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Sunday after neighbors reported hearing several shots fired in the area. Once on scene, officers found an unresponsive man on the east side of the street. He was pronounced the dead at the scene.

During the investigation, detectives expanded the initial crime scene to include the 4300 block of Spatz Avenue as officers discovered several shell casings. Officials say there is no motive for this apparent shooting nor is there any suspect information.

The Allen County Coroner’s office will be conducting an autopsy on Monday to determine a cause and manner of death. The incident remains under investigation.
