Man critical after July 4th shooting

(Jeff Bowman/21Alive)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Southeast Fort Wayne almost made it through the 4th of July without a shooting.

Fort Wayne police were called to a home in the 4100 block of Euclid Avenue, a block east of South Anthony Blvd, at 11:59 p.m. Monday on a report of a fight. It ended up being a shooting, with a man hospitalized in critical condition suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Police say the shooting happened after a fight began in front of the home, but they’re not sure if the victim was the intended target or not. Detectives are currently looking to talk to anyone who may have seen what happened.
