ETNA GREEN, Ind. (WOWO): A girl is in stable condition after she accidentally shot herself Tuesday.

Police were called to a home in the 9000 block of West County Road 575 North, in Etna Green at 5:38 p.m. on reports of a possible shooting. Police say an 8-year-old girl accidentally shot herself. She was hospitalized in stable-fair condition, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

Crews collected a .22 caliber handgun from the house. Department of Child Services was contacted regarding the incident.
