Fort Wayne man accused of shooting woman after a road rage incident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman was hospitalized in serious condition after police say road rage turned into a shooting Wednesday night.

Willie Amos, 39, was arrested on preliminary charges of aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, battery by means of a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

At about 8:50 p.m., a woman called police and said she was being chased. She also said someone was shooting at her.

The two cars crashed near Fairfield Avenue and Pasadena Drive. Police say at some point Amos shot the woman.

She was hospitalized and he ran away. Police caught him, found a handgun and arrested him, according to police.
