Fort Wayne police investigate vandalism at Jewish Cemetery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are looking into a rash of vandalisms at a Jewish cemetery in Fort Wayne.

About $20,000 in damage has been done over the past few weeks, including five dozen tombstones getting overturned and one being broken in half, according to the Journal Gazette. Police believe at least two people went through the cemetery on Decatur road and did the damage, but the lack of graffiti or drawings make them believe it’s not meant as an attack on Jews in general.

The crime happened sometime between January 7th and February 1st. If you know anything about what happened, or if one of your loved ones’ graves were affected, contact police.
