FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne church is trying to give some young men an empowering future.

Reverend Carlton Lynch of New Beginnings Church tells WOWO news this summer they’re mentoring 10 young men between the ages of 15 and 18 as part of a progam called “I’m HOOD,” with “HOOD” standing for “Helping Others Obtain Destiny.”

Lynch says the program will partner each teen with a local businessman and give them an opportunity to learn how to become the next generation of leaders in the community. The church is starting a fundraising effort for the program, estimating it’ll cost $1,000 per teen.

You can find out more, including how to contribute to the fundraiser, by contacting Lynch at (260) 466-8237.
