VAN WERT COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): A man was found dead in a car on US 30 near Middle Point on Wednesday morning.

Deputies were called around 6:20 a.m. to US 30 just east of Ringwald Road, where they found a 23-year-old man’s body in the driver’s seat of a car that had gone in a ditch.

Sheriff Thomas Riggenbach says based on evidence found at the scene, they don’t believe the man died as a result of the crash.

The man’s name has not been released yet. The Van Wert County Coroner sent the man’s body to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.

The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
