FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Another 1,400 Indiana jobs are moving to Mexico.

Carrier announced it plans to move its Indianapolis manufacturing center to Mexico, according to Network Indiana.

The company said it would take about three years until the move and no jobs will feel an immediate impact.

This announcement comes the same week as Carrier’s parent company, United Technologies Electronic Controls, announced it’s moving its Huntington plant to Mexico. About 700 workers will lose their jobs in the move.

Carrier says this move is cost-effective, but Indianapolis City-County Councilor Jared Evans says the choice based on “corporate greed.”
