Amy-Jo Sites is Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control’s new director

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Mayor Tom Henry has announced the next Fort Wayne Animal and Care Control director.

On Tuesday, he announced Amy-Jo Sites will start on Feb. 1. She is replacing Belinda Lewis, who is retiring.

Sites has been with the department since 2004, most recently as deputy director since 2011. She served as officer supervisor from 2004 to 2011.

“We’re looking forward to having Amy-Jo as the new leader at Animal Care and Control,” said Rusty York, public safety director for the City of Fort Wayne. “Amy-Jo’s professionalism, dedication, leadership and passion for people and animals make her a great for for this position.”
