Allen County Coroner’s Office unable to identify woman found in alley

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The coroner’s office could not get a positive identification for the woman found dead in an alley on Saturday morning.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy on the body of the woman found in the alley in the 3300 block of Wayne Trace Avenue, Fort Wayne. A positive identification wasn’t made.

The cause of death and manner of death are still under investigation.

At about 9:50 a.m. Saturday, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were called to an alley in the 3300 block of Wayne Trace. When crews arrived, they found a deceased woman lying on the ground wrapped in carpet.

Police don’t know how long she was at the location. The death is still under investigation.
