Youth Worker Sent to Prison for Sexually Soliciting Minors

FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): A youth worker was sent to jail after posing as a teenager on various Facebook accounts and sexually soliciting minors.

36-year-old Nathan Hasty received 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to the sexual exploitation of a minor by sending photos and engaging in sexual conversation. According to the Journal Gazette, Hasty was a Youth for Christ worker at schools in Huntington County.

Hasty allegedly used three fake Facebook accounts to contact boys and girls through flirtatious conversation. Eventually, the talks would turn sexual.

One of the accounts was under the name, “Sydney Jones.” The other went under went under the name, “Rachel Johnson.” Hasty pretended to be a 16-year-old girl on those accounts that were used to target boys. He also admitted to using those accounts in order to contact boys in his youth groups.

Hasty used a third Facebook account under the name, “Matt Kramer” to pose as a 19-year-old and contact both boys and girls. There, he asked similar questions that eventually led to sexual conversation.

As soon as the FBI became involved, Hasty was fired from his job with Youth for Christ.
