York Comments on Detective’s Sex Allegations

Fort Wayne’s Police Chief, Rusty York is speaking out about the lawsuit of a police detective who s suing the department in federal court. She claims her rights were violated.  Detective Bridget Glaser, a 19-year veteran of the department is asking for unspecified damages because, she says, for the past two years she was exposed to pornography and sex toys in the workplace.  Chief York told the Journal Gazette “Any claim that the Fort Wayne Police Department is liable to Detective Glaser for violation of rights or sexual harassment is without merit,”  He says that the detective works mainly with sex crimes and that “[Her unit deals] with forensic retrieval of evidence from phones and computers. There’s going to be evidence that’s going to be processed that’s going to be pretty disgusting.”  He told the paper that Detective Glaser is still employed with the police department and that the city will fight the lawsuit properly in the court system. The city has yet to formally respond to the suit and a trial date has not yet been set.
