WOWO Interviews Fort Wayne Nutrition Store on Hazmat Suit Sales

FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): Over in the buckeye state, city and airport officials say Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is disinfecting key areas of the facility after learning that a passenger who departed there Monday has Ebola….

A statement from those officials says the airport is implementing its infectious disease protocol and that the steps being taken far exceed the guidelines from the CDC .

Closer to home, Healthkick Nutrition in Fort Wayne says they're selling hazmat suits. Manager David Morris told Fort Wayne's Morning News, they've received positive responses from customers and the complete hazmat suits are available at all 4 Healthkick locations.

“The customers like to take their health into their own hands. By customer demand, we've provided the complete suit from our supplier. It comes with a particular respirator, eye wear, the full DuPont suit and gloves.”

Morris said he hasn't received any criticism on Healthkick selling the suits.

“Most folks know Ebola is on the horizon. It's only three hours away in Cleveland, perhaps. That's just one plane ride from entering Fort Wayne, so we haven't received any criticism.”

The suit costs $59.95 and is available in multiple sizes.
