Woman charged with attempted arson, domestic battery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman, after being forced out of a home, has been charged with attempted arson and domestic battery while trying to get back.

Court Records indicate that Marquita D. Thomas, 33, of Fort Wayne allegedly began an argument with a pregnant ex-girlfriend early September 20th. The News-Sentinel reports that a probable-cause affidavit shows Thomas was collecting her belongings after they were moved outside, and then was locked out.

To get back in, Thomas broke a window and forced her way back inside. That’s when Thomas started battering the victim.

It started at 2 a.m. but police arrived around 4 a.m. They noticed the suspect was allegedly holding a gas can near the back steps and had lighters on her possession. They also found charred paper was found on the door jam.

Thomas was charged with attempted arson and domestic battery against her ex-girlfriend.
