Wise Drops Out of Race for Congress

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WOWO): A Whitley County Republican is ending his campaign for Congress.

According to a report in Saturday's Journal-Gazette, former Whitley County Councilman Scott Wise announced he is no longer seeking the 3rd District U.S. House seat.

Wise ran for the office in 2008 as a Republican and again in 2010 and 2014 as Libertarian.

Current Representative Marlin Stutzman announced this spring he would vacate his role in the House to run for U.S. Senate.

Senate Senators Jim Banks of Columbia City and Liz Brown of Fort Wayne are vying for the Republican nomination. Former Wisconsin State Senator Pam Galloway and Kosciusko County Agri-Businessman Kip Tom are also running.

Tommy Schrader of Fort Wayne and Huntington businessman Todd Nightenhelser are running as Democrats.
