More winter weather on the way

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Winter weather advisories remain in effect for Steuben and LaGrange Counties and those advisories will remain in effect until 4 p.m., Friday.

Officials with the National Weather Service say blowing and drifting snow, accumulating to as much as six inches, is possible in northern Indiana along with reduced visibilities on the roadways.

Meanwhile, another winter storm is pushing its way into Allen County. It will arrive Saturday night and forecasters are anticipating an estimated three to seven inches of snow accumulation by Monday afternoon.

Nichole Thomas with the Indiana Department of Transportation says that means you will need to be extra careful on the roads this upcoming weekend.

“It’s time to retrain our brains and think winter weather driving skills and the first thing we tell drivers is to slow down.” She says that includes slowing down and giving snow plows and salt trucks plenty of room to do their jobs.
