Winter Weather Scraps Dozens of Flights Out of Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Dozens of flights out of Ohio airports have been scrubbed because of the winter weather sweeping into the northeastern United States.

The major snowstorm expected to hit the Philadelphia-to-Boston corridor led to thousands of flight cancellations across the country Monday, including more than 70 flights originating from major Ohio airports.

Hundreds of school closings and delays were reported across Ohio Monday after the storm moved through overnight.

The National Weather Service reports that west central Ohio saw the most snow, with accumulations between 3 to 5 inches Monday morning. Other parts of the state from Cleveland to southeast Ohio saw about 1 to 3 inches.

Slowdowns were reported on major highways in northeast and central Ohio.
