Win Moses Appointed To IURC

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Former Fort Wayne mayor and state representative Win Moses has been selected by Indiana House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath to serve on a commission that helps select members of the state's utility oversight panel.

Moses' appointment to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) starts immediately.

The committee is charged with creating a list of candidates to fill vacancies in the IURC.  The list then is forwarded to the governor who selects the person to fill the vacancy.

“Throughout his career in public service, Win Moses has made his name as a staunch advocate for the public’s best interest in the affairs of government,” Pelath said. “There are few people who have carved better reputations in making sure that public utilities live up to their public responsibilities, so I am delighted that Win has chosen to get involved in selecting those people who oversee Indiana utilities.”

Moses served as the chairman of the House Commerce and Utility Committee. He was twice named Indiana Consumer Advocate of the Year and was the founding president of the Citizens Action Coalition, a consumer protection group.
