Wild Zoo Halloween Opens Friday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s Wild Zoo Halloween opens, Friday, October 18th from 1 – 6 p.m. daily.

Highlights of the upcoming weekend include:

Friday, October 18: Free Train Rides

Zoo guests can ride the train for free all day.  The train ride features the Halloween-themed “Tale of the Twisted Tree” where riders are invited to find the mythical Twisted Tree in the Franke Park woods. 

Saturday, October 19:  Princess Day

Princess characters Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Tiana will meet and greet guests from 2-5 PM at locations within the zoo.  Children are encouraged to take photos with the characters.  Bring your own camera.  No additional charge above zoo admission.

Sunday, October 20:  Superhero Day

New for 2013, children can meet Spiderman, Batman, and Superman characters from 2-5 PM in locations around the zoo.  Children are encouraged to take photos with the characters.  Bring your own camera.  No additional charge above zoo admission.

Regular daily activities include gathering treats, exploring mazes, live animal shows, choosing a pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch, and more.

The Wild Zoo Halloween will continue October 24-27 & 31, with more theme days:

October 24:  Mascot Day

October 25:  Free Train Rides

October 26:  Star Wars Day

October 27:  Magic Day

October 31:  Pumpkin Decorating Workshop
