Who are the highest-paid public employees in Indiana?

INDIANA, (WOWO): It turns out one-fourth of the 20 highest-paid public employees in Indiana are college football and basketball coaches.

Four coaches are in the top five for best paid. IU men’s basketball coach Tom Crean earned nearly three million dollars last year, which puts him in first for highest paid, while Purdue University's Matt Painter earned just more than two million that year for second place.


Purdue University women’s basketball coach comes in 17th with a salary just under 600-thousand dollars.


IU president Michael McRobbie earned more than 850-thousand dollars last year. Six doctors from county hospitals also made the list, as well as seven executives from Citizens Energy Group, a utility services company which is classified as a nonprofit public trust.
