Where Can You Recycle Your Christmas Tree?

FORT WAYNE, Ind: (WOWO): The Allen County Solid Waste Management District is accepting Christmas trees at several locations around the area beginning December 26 through January 16.

Christmas trees CANNOT be placed in the trash.

Before recycling, ornaments, lights, tinsel and plastic bags MUST be removed from the trees. Wreaths are NOT accepted in the program. They'll recycle the trees into mulch and use them for trails at parks.

Some of the mulch be made available to the public. If you'd like some, call Solid Waste Management at 449-7878.
