Wayne Motel In New Haven Destroyed By Fire

A fire at Wayne Motel in New Haven Destroys the building and left several people homeless.  The call for help came in at 8:30 this morning when fire crews got on the scene on SR 930 just east of Adams Center they found smoke and flames coming from the roof in one corner of the building.  As fire crews were attacking the blaze trying to get it under control the fire flared up and everyone was ordered out.  The fought the fire defensively, the blaze kept spreading because of the age of the building, there were no fire stops in the attic area and the building is a total loss.  There were 50 people who were in the long and short-term motel at the time and they are now without a place to live the Red Cross is helping them.  The fire investigator has been called to try and determine what started this.
