Warsaw Man Arrest for Allegedly Stealing TV from Recently Deceased Friend

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): A Warsaw man has been arrested after police say he stole a television from his recently deceased friend’s apartment.

John Mayer died last Wednesday.  On Sunday, a neighbor noticed that a window screen in Mayer’s apartment had been cut.

On Monday, the neighbor called Warsaw police after he went to an apartment belonging to 22-year-old Durand Willis, who is another neighbor and friend of Mayer, and saw the dead man's 32-inch television in his home. Willis told police he didn’t know anything about the television and became combative. He was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, theft, disorderly conduct and public intoxication and booked at the Kosciusko County Jail on $6,000 bond.
