Warning Issued as Flooding Potential Increases

Weather experts are warning local residents to prepare for possible flooding.  Last week’s heavy snowfall, and already saturated ground along with warmer temperatures are creating concern.  Experts say that the snow we saw in most areas is equivalent to about 1.2 inches of rain.  The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning in hopes that people living along river banks will be mindful of the flooding potential.  Levels along the St. Mary’s near Decatur are expected to rise by Tuesday, cresting at around 8 AM and falling back below flood stage by 8 PM.
