FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): In support of the 122nd Fighter Wing of Fort Wayne, War Beard Mission 1 is going to help the local soldiers who will be deployed overseas over the holidays. It started when Jason Kochenderfer found out the 122nd fighter wing would have to celebrate Christmas in the desert.
He spoke with Fort Wayne's Morning News earlier today and said, mission one is about putting together care packages for the 122nd.
“We're going to meet on the 30th to collect donations at the St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Church. Right now, we're collecting donations, whether it's cash or donation items. Then, we're going to give them the care packages before they take off.”
St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Hall is located on US-27 South at 4-69, and the War Beard mission also set up a Go Fund Me account.
