INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indiana teenager who was last year’s runner-up on NBC’s “The Voice” talent competition will perform at an October event honoring the latest winners of Indiana’s Governor’s Arts Awards.

Seventeen-year-old Addison Agen of Fort Wayne will perform an original composition during the Oct. 19 awards ceremony at the northeastern Indiana city’s Sweetwater Performance Theatre.

The five Governor’s Arts Award winners who will be honored at the event include the late Bill Cook and his widow, Gayle, and Indiana University’s Sydney & Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art in Bloomington.

The other winners are dancer/choreographer and Portland native Twyla Tharp, arts educator and researcher Dr. F. Robert Sabol of Crawfordsville and arts entrepreneur Rami Sadek & LangLab of South Bend.

The biennial awards honor excellence in artistic achievement, education, leadership, and philanthropy.
