Violent Crimes Unit Arrests Decatur Rd. Shooting Suspect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  The newly formed Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit was introduced Friday morning and made their first arrest by the afternoon. 

The Unit arrested 24 year old Trameil Jackson for attempted murder in the double shooting on February 11th at Decatur Rd. and Dawnan Dr.  He's charged with attempted murder, carrying a handgun without a license and being an unlicensed driver. 

Jackson was confirmed as a member of the Fort Wayne street gang “MOB” and already a convicted felon.  He is being held without bond.  

The Gang and Violent Crimes United worked in conjunction with the Robbery/Homicide Division and was assisted by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the BATFE (ATF).  Police made their arrest at 8520 Lakeside Dr. around 4 p.m. Friday.
