View USF School Colors on the MLK Bridge Tonight

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Wednesday night, the MLK Bridge will light up with the University of Saint Francis colors of royal blue and white, to celebrate the University of Saint Francis women’s basketball team.

 

Mayor Tom Henry has asked City staff to light the MLK Bridge in order to recognize the team’s undefeated season and National NAIA Division II championship title.  

 

The bridge will be blue and white tonight, just after dusk and through tomorrow morning.

 

“The team brings great pride to Saint Francis and the City of Fort Wayne with their tremendous accomplishments this season,” said Mayor Henry. “I congratulate these outstanding young women, their coaches, their families and the entire Saint Francis community.”

 

The Cougars finished the season 38-0, ranked number 1 and as NAIA Division II Champions.

 

There will also be a pep rally at Hutzell Athletic Center tonight when the players return from Sioux City, Iowa. The estimated return is between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
