Victim of Southeast Fort Wayne Shooting Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The shooting victim in southeast Fort Wayne Monday night has been identified.

The Allen County Coroner's Office says that 34 year old Karon Elders of Fort Wayne died as the result of a gunshot wound in a homicide. 

Elders was found lying in the middle of the Oliver and Oxford Street intersection with a gunshot wound to the chest. Elders was later pronounced dead at the hospital. 

Police say there were multiple witnesses who saw a suspect flee the scene on foot and they were able to locate a firearm in a nearby alley. They are continuing to question the witnesses, but have not yet made an arrest.
