Vehicle Crashes into Horseback Rider in LaGrange County

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A teenager was hit by a car while riding a horse on County Road 100 S near W 100 S in Newbury Township.

The car was driven by 22-year-old Myron Nissley, who was driving on eastbound CR 100 S around 9:30 p.m. Monday night.

According to a press release, Nissley was unable to see the the 17-year-old girl or the horse due to low light conditions.

The car struck the horse in a rear-end collision, and the teen was flown to the hospital due to neck pain.

Police say there was no kind of reflective markings on the horse or the rider.

The accident is being investigated by the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department and charges have not been filed.
