Van Wert Begins 2-1-1 System for Public Aid

VAN WERT, Ohio (WOWO): If you live in Van County, Ohio and need help, a network of county and state programs are literally just a call away.

Just like calling emergency dispatch,but in this case its a 2-1-1 call.

United Way of Van Wert County announce Wednesday they've started the program. Officials say that mean's a lot less legwork and a lot fewer phone calls for those needing help immediately.

That help includes assistance with heating or utilities, senior citizens, childcare and other aid programs.

Nearly 70 counties in Ohio are included in the 2-1-1 network.
