COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WOWO): A fiery crash between two semi tractor trailers closed down both directions of US 30 in Columbia City on Tuesday morning.
According to the Indiana State Police, the crash happened on US 30 at Lincolnway, near Paige’s Crossing, shortly before 9:20 a.m.
One semi rear-ended a car carrier, traveling up the carrier’s ramp and landing on the other semi’s cab.
One driver was trapped in his truck, and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment after both vehicles burst into flame. A caller says the driver is being treated for burns.

Westbound US 30 is open to all traffic, but eastbound U.S. 30 is being routed through Columbia City. Trucks are on the scene trying to separate the semis. Police are still urging drivers to exercise caution.
