UPDATE: Two People Involved in Home Invasion Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The victim seriously injured in a home invasion has been identified as 29-year-old Damarcus Thomas. Yesterday, the victim of a fatal shooting was identified as 36-year-old Sylvanus Williams of Indianapolis.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of a reported shooting at the Black Bear Creek Apartments on Reed Road just after 6:30 a.m. Monday morning. After an autopsy was performed Monday afternoon, it was determined that his cause of death was gunshot wounds

Williams in the 40th homicide for Allen County and Fort Wayne this year.

One person is dead after a home invasion on the city's northeast side.

Just after 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, police responded to a shooting at Black Bear Creek Apartments on Reed Road, near Lake Avenue.

Officers believe two people were trying to rob the home, one of which was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering apparent gunshot wounds. The other suspect got away.

 

A man, woman, and child were in the home during the invasion. Police say the man was taken to the hospital in serious condition and the woman and child were unharmed. The incident is still under investigation.
